Hi Phil! We weren’t sure what to expect but were so incredibly amazed at the awesomeness of it all. Ashlyn was super nervous but handled it like a champ! I think my heart grew 3 sizes ( just like the grinch) watching her up there. She has grown so much in just a few months. The band experience for Ashlyn was totally novel but she appreciates how the band makes the songs that much fuller. It was so great to see the kids with more experience - It’s inspired her as she wants to do it all again. We also really appreciate you accommodating her music choice which differed from the majority of your students. So proud of her and thank you for everything. You’ve got a great community around you Phil! It really shows how special your relationship with music and your students is 💕.
Hey Phil. Just wanted to give you kudos for all the effort that went into making today happen. You and your family put together one hell of a show and I’m sure more than just our kid is feeling a new sense of confidence and passion for music. Nathan wanted me to tell you that you're the best music teacher, he loved the show. Mateo thought the show was really good and he was really happy. He could feel the beat moving through his body.😄

Without exaggeration, Kian’s lessons with Phil have been life enriching for him. Our house is always full of music, mostly because Kian [who has autism] sings, literally, from the time he wakes up until he goes to bed everyday. And while Kian has always fiddled around with the instruments we’ve bought him, we hadn’t been able to find a teacher who was willing to show him how to play them. Phil allows Kian to lead the way, from choosing the songs he learns, and the pace he moves through them, to giving him a stage to perform to a crowd…with a mic! I believe that Phil has opened new neural pathways for Kian that has touched many facets of Kian’s life and how he interacts with the world with new confidence and joy. Our time with Phil has been such a blessing for our entire family. Thanks, Phil and Lightning Ant Music School, for taking a chance on Kian!

He’s excited [about his drum lessons]. He’s been missing lessons. He really looks up to Lucas. They have a lot in common and Dom can see himself in Lucas. Both on the smaller side, have earrings, like skateboarding/scootering and play drums. Dom is quiet with you guys but really thinks the world of both of you.
Hi Phil thank you [for your feedback on Nate’s performance]. I will pass that on to him. His nerves almost got the best of him before the performance and I had to half drag him there but he walked out feeling 10 feet tall. Thank you for all you do for these kids. Nate is loving his lessons!
